Restoring barn to Ranch Red

Located near Pincher Creek, Alta., Heritage Acres Farm Museum showcases its extensive collection of pioneer and farm-related artifacts on 180 acres in the foothills of southwestern Alberta. The site also is home to many relocated heritage buildings, including a church, school, log house and two barns. The Zoeteman/Vogelaar Barn was moved to its current location in 2014 and received a fresh look with help from Co-op Communities in Full Colour. With its first section built in 1938 and a second section built in 1942, volunteers used over 565 litres (150 gallons) of paint to restore the 14,500-square-foot exterior with Ranch Red over two days in August 2018.
