Co-op’s Communities in Full Colour program provides paint for projects that improve the well-being of our communities. Co-ops across Western Canada are giving back by preserving, enhancing and beautifying the communities in which we live, work and play.
Excited to support a vital restoration project through the program, Dauphin Co-op donated 200 gallons of CO-OP IMAGINE® Exterior Paint to the Ukrainian Folk Arts Centre & Museum. This generous donation, valued at $12,500, supported efforts to revitalize and restore the site’s historic buildings.

Selo Ukraina – or “Ukrainian Village” – is a centre for the preservation of Ukrainian culture and heritage in Manitoba. Located on the northern slopes of Riding Mountain National Park, the site hosts Canada’s National Ukrainian Festival, Dauphin’s Countryfest and other major events.
The paint donation to the Ukrainian Folk Arts Centre and Museum was a boost to the organization, providing a much-needed facelift to the festival site at Selo Ukraina.
“The donation of paint, along with the help of volunteers from Dauphin Co-op and Canada’s National Ukrainian Festival, not only brightened the appearance of the buildings on site but also helped preserve them for future years and events,” said Jim Perchaluk, president of the Ukrainian Folk Arts Centre & Museum.

This contribution helped to restore the beauty and integrity of the heritage structures, ensuring they remain a source of community pride and historical significance for future generations. For Dauphin Co-op, investing in the preservation of cultural heritage and sustainability is one of the ways they give back to their communities. Dauphin Co-op was happy to gather with members of the Ukrainian Folk Arts Centre & Museum and committee members of Canada's National Ukrainian Festival to help them make progress on this massive restoration project.
“We believe in the power of history to inspire and educate,” said Stephen Bunka, Dauphin Co-op Building Division Manager. “It is an honour to contribute to a project that safeguards our shared past while enhancing its beauty for the future. Building and enriching the life of our communities is what we do at Dauphin Co-op – this is just another example of our commitment to that.”
